December 26, 2008 - ISAACS PLANS FOR LAPLAND TRIP

By: Crissy with No Comments Filed Under: News & Articles

Actor JASON ISAACS is racing to get to Lapland this Christmas, so he can give his kids some magical memories.
The Harry Potter star fears he spends too much time away from his young children while he is filming, and wants to make sure they have a great family Christmas.
He says, “I get home when my kids are asleep and I leave before they wake up, so I’m trying to buy my way back into their affection.
“I’m desperate to take my kids to Lapland to meet Santa. That’s a trip you can do from London. I’ve got friends who have taken their kids there and they’re now grown up, like 10 or 11, and they realise there’s no Tooth Fairy, but they still believe in Santa - because they met him.
“So I’m desperate to take my kids before the disbelief sets in. We have Santa, the Tooth Fairy and The Switch Witch who comes on Halloween and switches out all the candy by the bed for a gift; the Tooth Fairy’s cousin.”

December 22, 2008 - From Harry Potter to Nazi Germany

By: Crissy with No Comments Filed Under: News & Articles

Jason Isaacs, the British actor who attended the Jerusalem Jewish Film Festival at the Jerusalem Cinematheque to present his latest film, Good, is Israeli - almost. His parents and brothers made aliya years ago and live in Herzliya (although his brothers have moved back and forth between here and England). And like many Israelis, he defends Israel passionately in public and criticizes it passionately in private. “Spiritually, I feel Israeli,” says the actor, and the tension between his identification as a Jew who is (nearly) Israeli and a cerebral British actor is evident as he speaks.

Like many well-educated British actors (he studied law at Bristol University before turning to acting), he talks a mile a minute, his sentences filled with a vocabulary that would send most of his Hollywood counterparts scurrying for the dictionary. But he also talks with his hands and gets in self-deprecating jokes at every juncture.

December 13, 2008 - Why Holocaust Movies Are Bad, Except His

Good Star Jason Isaacs on Why Holocaust Movies Are Bad, Except His
Good is the kind of movie that “starts arguments,” says Jason Isaacs, who was reluctant to play the role of Viggo Mortensen’s Jewish best friend in thirties Germany. Isaacs’s stage and screen career is deep — best known for playing villain Lucious Malfoy in the Harry Potter series, he was in The Patriot and Black Hawk Down, played one of the brothers in Showtime’s Brotherhood, and also performed as Louis Ironson in the debut London production of Angels in America. We spoke to Isaacs about his distaste for Holocaust movies, moving a work from stage to screen, and how appearing on Entourage is the most fun you can have as an actor.

Sorry for the lack of updates. School has been incredibly busy for me and on top of that, I had a major problem with my laptop and had to reinstall windows. I lost all the pictures and programs on my computer. I’m on my christmas break right now, so I will try to get all my programs back a.s.a.p and get caught up with Jason pictures and news. Sorry again!

November 8, 2008 - Actor is here, there, and everywhere

By: Crissy with No Comments Filed Under: News & Articles

Jason Isaacs had hoped to be at the ICA Sunday for the screening of his new movie, “Good.” After all, he’s been right next door in Rhode Island shooting “Brotherhood.” But the actor got word this week he’s needed in Morocco, where he and Matt Damon are about to put the finishing touches on “Green Zone,” the Iraq war movie directed by Paul Greengrass. “Matt’s all about the work, and so far from precious,” said Isaacs, who’s British. “The first day of work on ‘Green Zone,’ I had to knock Matt about like a rag doll and there wasn’t a peep out of him. We got to the end of the day, and he was covered in cuts and bruises.” “Good,” which is screening as part of the Boston Jewish Film Festival, is a quieter film about two friends in Germany in the 1930s. (Viggo Mortensen costars.) Isaacs shot it a few summers ago during a break in filming on “Brotherhood.” “There I was being a Providence gangster and then I’d get off a plane and be a psychiatrist in Germany in 1936,” said Isaacs, who also played Lucius Malfoy in the “Harry Potter” films. “It was a weird transition, but that’s my job - trying to be other people.”

I added screen captures of the season 3 premiere of Brotherhood to the gallery. I couldn’t make screen caps of one of the scenes with Jason because of the nudity. I thought it was an awesome episode!
